Why am I still here?

Jake Bradshaw
College Writing I
Final Exam Response

College Writing may seem like just a regular college class that’s mandatory to take in order to graduate, and it kind of still is. But the thing with the class is, you don't just take a class and write a bunch of papers, you learn how to write more effectively and in different ways that you probably never thought about before. The class will help you write your papers and improve your writing skills that you will find very useful in all of you rother college courses that you are taking or have yet to come. Soon enough you will find out how useful of a class this truly will be as you work to continue your college career and pursue whatever career you are looking to obtain.
One thing that you definitely need to as an incoming freshmen, is that you will need to focus and pay attention to what your peers are saying about your paper. In College Writing, you conduct something called peer review when you correct and read each other's papers and give hints and tips on how you can correct your paper to sound better. This may seem kind of irrelevant, but trust me, it definitely helps in the writing process with making your paper sound the way it should. But to go along with this, don’t always rely on peer review to correct your paper. There will be some people in your class who are not as willing as others to give input and help out with your papers. So if you rely on it too much, you could find yourself in a hole with no way of correcting your paper, and will be sending something in that is very similar to your rough draft.
College writing will have it’s benefits, but it may also have it's downfalls. One thing you should keep in mind is to just have fun as much as you can, and enjoy the papers you’ll write that are more creative-writing style papers. It won’t be one of your more fun classes, but no doubt it will help you for your future papers, and possibly in your future career. Take advantage of the class, even though it only seems like a silly college requirement that everyone has to take. You only get to take the class once, unless you fail of course.
